What, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hose_clamp doesn't count? :-)

As for the Wald, last summer I sported it in place of the wooden deck
on my custom long-tail/Xtracycle
http://www.flickr.com/photos/cleverchimp/sets/72157600471176107/with/615982989/.
Unfortunately, my own pictures of the bike are unavailable due me
being late with my Flickr "pro" vig. And anyway, I don't think I have
any pictures of it with said basket anyway, but it was the big one
which I strapped to the H-bars directly above the rear wheel.

I absolutely loved the throw-it-in-and-go aspect.

I also loved the vibe I feel it sent out (um, admittedly, if only to
myself). Riding down the road shirtless in sandals and some rolled-up
Goodwill dress slacks, and with a Wald basket with an igloo cooler and
misc what-not thrown in on top, it was clear I wasn't the typical
Lance-wannabe one sees riding down the road. And yet neither was I or
the rest of my bike that of the unemployed transient one might expect
to be touring with a wald basket and igloo cooler. Hopefully people
saw me and thought, now _there's_ a dude out having a good time who
left his smug at home.

As for why I don't want to use a Wald on my commuter, no _good_
reason, except it's been done so I'm trying to mix it up a little
differently.

All my best,
-Allan
