I ride a 54cm Hunqapillar and my wife rides a LHT. Both are great bikes. I'm glad I got the Hunqapillar. It rides great, and I've never had a beautiful, lugged bike before. I've changed my set-up to moustache bars (which are very mitten-friendly), and I'll post new photos once I have some. Mine is a 54, so it looks quite a bit different from the diagatube models.
Not sure what the LHT lacks in versatility. It's very strong and has big tire clearances. There's the quill stem vs. threadless issue, both having their pros and cons. Of course that Hunqapillar special is beautiful, but the LHT has nice looking, traditional geometry (though Surly uses some of the most godawful colors). You'll have fun on either bike. But then, if you really think you'll ride the Surly more, that to me would be the decider. I'm lucky to live in a very low-crime area. I will say that Rivendell has had a big impact on the way that I think about bikes, and it was a nice feeling to finally buy one of their frames. -Ian On Dec 4, 6:21 am, Mike <[email protected]> wrote: > Hey, so anyone out there actually riding one?
