I think you're in a good place with the Bike Kitchen and Orange 20 close to your new digs. But, if you're ever out of the area, here are a few shops that I frequent for things like maintenance parts and accessories.
Eagle Rock -- go to Budget Cycle Pros North Glendale -- Montrose Bike Shop (they host cyclocross outings and BBQs) Pasadena -- Incycle and Performance Bike Also, you might want to check out Topanga Creek Bicycles (in Topanga Canyon) if you're going to be near the coast. There are also a ton of places to ride in the area if you like climbing.
