Have to point out, though, that Manny packed less warm clothes than others might have packed for the same trip. I live very near Manny and went on an overnight last week. I brought, and wore all at the same time in the evening, a wool undershirt, wool Shak sweater, wool hoodie sweater, wool hat and a Goretex jacket-- and I definitely wasn't overheating. My companion was similarly bundled up in the evening as we made dinner. It was in the 40s two nights ago when I started riding yesterday morning. I'm guessing Manny runs warm. Also, no sleeping pad? Too spartan for me. Then again, I'm on the side of more luxury.
