I had the same problem. After trying two sets of Silver shifters on both bar ends and down tube mounts. I finally replaced my modernish DuraAce front (7800) road triple derailleur with an older XT circa 1989ish. Fixed the slipping problem, and the shifter is smooth and light. Big difference. My observation is that the modern derailleur has a heavier spring and pulls the shifter more. Tightening it down hard doesn't work.
What modern front derailleurs have a moderate spring tension/leverage? Brian Seattle On Wed, Sep 7, 2011 at 2:05 PM, mho <[email protected]> wrote: > I have the downtube Silver shifter.
