My '03 Curt had a 10 speed drivetrain for its first three years or so,
before I had it converted to a fixed drivetrain. 10 sp 11-21 Am Classic
cassette pulled by a single TA Pro 5 Vis 46 t ring (24.5" tires). (And I
had Curt make the left dt shifter braze on removable!) If I ever
derailleur-ize my '99 Joe, it may well be as 1X10 -- certainly as a 1XN.

I see no moral, aesthetic or psychological problem with installing a late
model 10 sp group on a Rivendell, as long as the cranks are not like those
for the SRAM Red group.

Patrick "1X10, si; 2X5, no!" Moore who has only gotten back to seven cogs
in back so far.
