Hope shortly to make it to church for (first part of) (probably
interminable, knowing the Russian-derivative Orthodox) St. Andrew's
Canon, first (full) day of Lent. Eastward and Southward. Winds SE and
SSE 20 to 30 -- eeek! But downhill -- just hope they don't switch on
me for the return. 72" fixed. No load, just the wind, of which we can
expect another 2-3 months of strong ones, then back to the usual just
plain windy.

Speaking of loads: I've carried 45 lb (up that 12% hill, too! Which it
was only 4/10 mile, but in a 67" gear) on my ex-Motobecane (now doing
hundreds of miles brevets under E Norris). What's y'all's record?
