And I've got one! I knew it was bright but didn't bother to discover the
make and model.

Perhaps that's the answer, that and the mini-mag red LED under the
chainstay (the rubber block/velcro mount and the sturdy maglite make this
viable in what is a position prone to being knocked about. I can always buy
a second Radbot and devise another place on the bag to clip it to. Or clip
it to the waist-attached reflective triangle that I just got from Riv.

So this extended discussion hasn't been all vapor and wasted breath after
all. That's good, because I really want to use a small saddlebag more or
less permanently attached with panniers added at need.
