OK, I completed my liner for my sackville rear trunk sack.
I used a 12" x 18" x 1/4" thick minicell foam sheet, which I purchased from
salamanderpaddlegear. It cost me $5 (plus shipping and a few paddle
supplies to round out the order.
Fits like it's tailor-made, and certainly takes the slack out.

I used a piece of the leftover to make a top liner, which floats in the top
of the bag, but is quite snug when the bag is closed and will make it into
a decent cooler.

A quarter-inch liner doesn't diminish the capacity, of course, the foam
compresses as needed.

I started by measuring the bottom and cut out the blank as a cross, so that
it went together square. When I installed it in the bag, I found that the
bag is narrower at the top, so the sides of the liner were buckling inward.
I cut out the vertical seams and re-glued it, butting the ends together,
and it fit perfectly snug.

so the blank you need to cut for this is narrower at each top edge by about
1/8".

Sorry I didn't write down the dimensions, but where I started from was
measuring the bottom panel on the outside.

Got a 30-mile ride Sunday, and will take some cold beer - and water.
