No, I was referring to the Bruce G Rock 'n' Road tires that were formerly on
the Mystery Bike (not to a BG Rock 'n' Road <bike>). I loved them, but
couldn't make fenders work with them on that bike (at least not without
substantial fiddling, and even then no guarantees), so I put the somewhat
skinnier (around 36mm mounted) Delta Cruisers on the bike, along with
Longboards. Everything plays well together now, and the ride remains very
cushy ("stately", as Cyclofiend suggests), but still surprisingly zippy and
responsive.

I agree that in most cases, a commuter should have fenders. I'm lucky to have
more than one bike and put fenders, albeit cheapy plastic Crud fenders, on one
of my bikes to use when its wet outside. Otherwise, one lucky thing about
living in my area is there are months when it doesn't rain and fenders are
optional. Good Luck!

and Longboards. Cleaned up the wiring for the lights, another coat of shellac
on bars and kickstand and twine over taillight wire on LOOONG rack stay, and
we're ready to go.
