I'm in the middle of winter bike work, and one of the things i need to do is re-tape my drop-bar bikes. One thing that's always bothered me (though just slightly) is how dirty cotton bar tape gets over time--especially the lighter colors. I've always accepted this as just a trade-off of using cotton bar tape, but is there anything you can do to reduce the effect? If i put on a coat of shellac, will that help or will that introduce a different problem?
Suggestions for other types of bar tape are fine as part of the discussion, but i'm set on using cotton tape, and i'm mostly resigned to it getting grimy over time as being part of it. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
