700c Rams can be converted to 650b and then you can run the Hetres. The Tektro 73mm brakes are a little too short though so you can either file them down for more clearance or use v-brake pads which tend to give you the range needed. 700x28 and 650x42 are near enough to the same diameter that you don't have the issues with BB drop and you can mount fenders without all of the hassle of trying to get them to work with much bigger than 28s while working with 700c wheels.
TToshi, who recently posted on the ram/ahh/roadeo differences has done a conversion recently. He seemed fairly happy with the conversion. I am planning to take on a conversion on my 56 Rambouillet sometime in the nearish future.
