Has anyone packed their bike for travel on Amtrak or bus lines? Tips and recommendations? THe whole process seems daunting (what to do with the box/bag while I cycle, how to handle fenders and racks, protect the derailleur, etc. I've no idea if/when I would travel this way (not sure how my brain would survive the train motion and and the laundry/perfumed scents of other passengers), but would love to have this as an option.
