Hi everyone, I've been reading the thread on tires and someone mentioned the Clement MSO 40. Coincidentally, I just rode mine today, took pics, and planned to comment on them. Pics are here (and in the RBW Flickr group): http://www.flickr.com/photos/cwmcmillen/sets/72157633184218583/. They'e the most recent ones in the set.
I like the tires. I weigh b/w 170-175 and on the Hunq I've had: --50mm Duremes: dead, heavy, overkill for me. --32mm Paselas: they're 32 Paselas. What can I say? Great all-around tire. 32mm Grand Bois Cypres: Amazing. But then my favorite is the GB Hetre on my 650B; the Cypres are similar. A little too narrow but still remarkably awesome on gravel. --40mm Clement MSO: Really nice. Running them about 35-40 front; 40-45 rear (I'm not that precise about it). In terms of non-paved roads, they did not perform, in the conditions I ride in (see pics in the link and many others in photostream), any better than my Hetres. But then I cannot run Hetres on my Hunq unless I convert to 650B---hmmmm? This is not a criticism; just my observation. Maybe I felt more secure going fast downhill? Who knows. In any event, I really liked them. They're good combination of fine on pavement and really nice on gravel.
