I was up there last summer for a backpacking trip out of Florence lake and thought that the roads would be perfect for a fat tired bike tour. We could do day rides from Huntington or even a tour to Vermilion Resort. http://www.edisonlake.com/ The roads to Florence and Edsion lakes are the most remote in the Sierra's. The roads are paved now but past Kaiser Pass they look like someone just paved a dirt road with out grading.
It's a 4 hr drive from LA or SF so a three day weekend would allow for 2 days of riding. The is good riding also in the Alta Sierra Range west of Lake Isabella. Better in Sept maybe. One could ride up to the old logging mill in Johnsondale and then up towards Alta Sierra on narrow paved roads through pine forests. ~mike -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
