Great California landscape there! Nice tarantula friend as well! Looks
like you were chasing the sun home.

I've broken valve stems with a hand pump a few times before. Not fun.
I like the Lezyne pumps with the hose for just that reason. But the
valve stem can also pull out of the rubber which has happened more
than once as well. Also a burr around the the valvestem hole in the
rim can rub through also. Any of the above and more!
