I think that the vo or nitto adapter with suitable stem would look nicer than an open face quill stem. Also, it would give you more options in stem choices should you need to change that out. I'm not against threadless so I'm not bothered at all by that look. The vo page shows a look I'd find suitable on most any of my bikes. Ymmv.
