I think most of the younger endurance racers are into off-road rides. The avg. age of riders on events like the Tour Divide is in the early 30's. Gravel racing is another area where younger riders have found their calling. Long pavement rides just seem more monotonous compared to the variety of terrain and challenges of dirt based endurance races. Even though I fit in the older demographic, the dirt side of cycling is just more fun.
