I'm 5'11" with a PBH in the 85-87cm range and I finally picked up a couple of old 26" MTB's to satisfy the curiosity that has been nagging at me for a couple of years. I also finally got some 55mm 26" Big Apples to aid in my experiments. I haven't made a decision yet but I'm seriously considering stripping down my 700c bike and moving the components to a 26" frame, probably a Surly LHT. I want a traditional diamond frame bicycle that will take 60mm tires and doesn't have a stand-over height out of my comfort zone (54cm Hunq & 56cm Velo Orange Camargue). An Atlantis is right on but I can't afford something that pricey. Outside the expedition touring market I don't know of any other bikes that fit the bill. I prefer to stay away from vintage MTB's because I like a short top-tube and a lower bottom bracket, both rare in older MTB's.
