Shimano 7 is 5.0mm; 8 is 4.8mm; 9 speed is 4.34 mm. Sprocket thickness
also goes down, from 1.85mm in the 7 speed to 1.8mm for 8 speed and
1.78mm for Shimano 9. Here's a copy of the chart:
