I was a little surprised at the article. I lived in the Greenville/Spartenburg area during the early '90's and can't say anything good, bad or indifferent about cycling safety in the area. I rode frequently in town and in the surrounding foothills and the only remarkable memory is the oppressive humidity and beautiful scenery.
