I know there was some talk of using a longer barrel on the marker and does it effect the paint ball in trajectory or distance, but this is a bit more than a little bit longer marker barrel.... the barrel for the marker will be pretty much part of the Tiger's barrel as it will be held inside of it (I was told a wrap or two of tape on the marker's barrel will take up the slack between it and the tank's barrel to hold it firmly in place) and will be used to attach and remove the tank's barrel (for transportation and storage). now, the longer marker barrels i have seen are about 6" longer than regular barrel lengths, but what about the extra foot or so that the tank barrel will be adding onto that? I know the curtain rod is slightly larger in dia that the paint ball, but how does this effect the paint ball? does the paint ball passing through the curtain tube slow down any (lessening the chance for a good break when it hit's it's target) as the now longer tube
in the above drawing, the tank barrel is black, the marker barrel is gray, the blue is the gas used to fire the paint ball and the green is the standing air in the barrel. here the paint ball has been fired and has left the marker's barrel, but is still within the tank's barrel. the gas used from the marker is still behind the paint ball pushing it until it reaches the end of the tank barrel, but does anyone know of any ill effect by the standing air in the tank barrel? would it try to push back past the paint ball? i was wondering about relief holes in the lower part of the tank barrel just past the end of the marker barrel to act as a relief to any back pressure, but at the same time, by doing so make lessen the pressure of the gas used to fire the paint ball in the first place. or is the gas used to fire the paint ball still expanding to prevent any kind of vacuum from forming behind the paint ball until it exit's the tank barrel? does the added length of the tank's barrel make a difference? any physic professors in here?
