for details about the molding process used to create the Tiger's inner 
treads (as well as the inner and outer treads for about 4 other tanks). 
  The Tiger's inner treads have shown no serious wear or cracks in over 
4 years of battling (on some truly nasty terrain without any suspension).

Smooth-Cast molding resins come in many different Rockwell hardness 
numbers.  The resin used by the Tiger is the lowest number, cheapest and 
fastest drying. The resin is hard enough to release from the mold in a 
few minutes, cured hard overnight and can be made harder by baking at 
low heat for an hour or so.  The resin can also be dyed virtually any 
color without changing it's curing or hardness properties.
