Well, I guess it's time to introduce myself and get the ball rolling on "yet another hobby" as my wife would call it. I have been lurking here for almost a year trying to convince myself that I don't need to start another hobby, but I finally broke down and ordered my first tank part, a couple of MY1016 motors from tncscooters.com. Now it's time to start ordering the rest of the parts.
1) Tracks -- I'm currently leaning towards either a cog driven TTS or attachment chain -- anybody know where I can get a hold of some treadmill belting? Does Will Montgomery still have attachment chain available for sale, or did everyone scoop it up already? 2) Motors -- obviously I'm going with the MY1016 -- I saw some discussion about someone making a new sprocket for this motor so it will more easily drive #35 chain 3) Speed Control -- leaning towards either the Tri-pact, or else the Sabertooth 2x25 -- depending on how much money is left in the budget 4) Chassis -- my two favorites so far are either the T-34-85, or something more modern like the M1A2 Abrams Finally, are there any other active tankers here in the desert southwest?
