A note to report that my 1:6 Daimler runs on its two 18 V DeWalt motors. And I means she runs! Zoomed up the 30 degree ramp no sweat in the initial tests. And that's with tyres fully inflated. I expect more traction with deflated tyres. The speed is 20 kms/h on the low gear with an 80% performance on the motors. When I reverse, the springs of the suspensions go all the way down. She like sticks to the ground before she accelerates in reverse. Kind of scary. No wheelie though. I'll have to do some adjustments and try the fast gear (1200 RPM). DOn;t know how to RC trip the little clutch to switch from low gear to fast gear.
I will see how she behaves in the final drive tests. I don't want the thing to tip over in curves with the turret on. Or, for battles I can lower the End Point Adjustments on my RC to reduce speed from racing speed to battling speed. Thanks JOe! Tons of Wattage with two 18 Volt drills. The wheels spin fiercely and nothing seems to stop them. At some point I might replace the wheels from 25 cms diam. to 20 cms diam. in order to lower speed, increase torque and relief teh motors. All in all I see great potential in this vehicle. When she passes all tests, I will replicate on aluminium the shapes of the current plywood hull.
