for those of you using attachment chain for their tracks, the drive axles,
what dia are you using? i was thinking maybe 1"

Just wanted to get some input before i check Lowe's and Home Depot for keyed
steel rod.

there is also the metal shop on the other side of town, i can check to see
if they have anything too - if so, what type of steel should i look for?

I just called for a new copy of surplus city (or what ever that catalog is)
as the one i just found on the bench is from early 08'

the other thing is, i'm using 40 pitch attachment chain, how are you guys
using this cutting it to length, were you grinding down the head of the pin and

then tapping it through or do i need a hydraulic press?

i also have to check my one sprocket i had listed for the tracks, i seem to
be missing a number .... i also have to double check my sprockets i was
planning to orer as i had 3 gearings worked out and it looks like i was going
to
get the faster of the gearings, but think i'm going to bump it down a bit
(just
by 2 teeth per sprocket - don't want a turtle).
