I think you will find that throwing track will be an inherent weakness
of the roller chain track design on a suspended tank.  The guide teeth
function is being performed by the chain which isn't high enough IMO.
The design looks like it has quite a bit of inline twist which doesn't
help much.  As you state, the only choice to improve matters somewhat
is to increase track tension.  As you crank down on the tension you
will be compressing your suspension which will require more spring
pressure to maintain ride height.
