And went all out with a gas version using differential steering. http://kingtigerproject.webs.com/drivesystem.htm
Before anyone gets confused. The system is not complete. The big spur gear will only act like a flywheel to give the tank some inertia. I will still be adding a large #35 chain 60T gear to the differential. The transmission is bolted to the tank and can be removed for upgrades and repair at any time. The gear ratio is around 10:1 There are no plans for reverse at this time, also, this system does not allow neutral turns, only skid steering like on most real tanks in WWII. I also updated some other things including some detail of the upper hull. I cant believe it takes so much work to build a tank of this scale. But in the end it will all be worth it. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
