I bought all the Vantecs I've owned used (owned two RDFR33s, two RET411, and
the RDFR38E). The Vantecs due make a hum/buzz when operating, but so do the IFI Victors and the RS80D. Not sure if there is a way around that with the way these high amp controllers are put together. Vantec has a good repair facility with reasonable rates. No one that I know of will repair the RS80Ds anymore. Victors have a repair outlet also. The only Vantec I've bought used that has ever had an issue was one of the RET411s and it is the cheapest of the bunch. Typically if the seller is reputable, the electronics are just fine IMHO. That controller (RDFR36E) has onboard tank mixing for the two channels.
