Tim Loeb uses 1/8 inch thick roto-molded ABS for his hulls.
They are definitely strong enough for RC tank combat.  Detail
pieces are cast styrene or acrylic and will break.

One of his Semoventes was used for the X2 armored supply
vehicle at Gettysburg 2008.
