I nominate Steve Tyng for spokesperson. I can go to my local hobby
shop, hobbytown usa and gather the cheapest prices for a starter kit.
i.e. 5 channel radio/reciever, msc, servos, paintball gun, motors...

I would be willing to put a small package togather and ship it to
people only for what I have into it and shipping cost. anyone have any
ideas what would be needed in a starter kit? maby some paper scale
plans for a tiger 1?

The place I buy all my rc stuff is www.hobbytown.com
I live near one so I can go there to pick up parts and they have the
rc guru on hand at all times. And their prices are good.
