Looks like a nice solution.  I really don't worry THAT much about weight.
Reliability is my primary concern.  I would be all over it if the chain was
wider (like at least 4.5").  I know I could rivit longer pads on it over the
steel, but then that would kinda defeat the purpose of spending that much
for track I would have to completely re-work.  I'd go for it if they were
wide enough.
