Im not sure Chrys but I do think the disks will have to be a greater internal diamiter than the external diamiter of the tubes , however I do think your idea is a good one because if the discs are the same then the spacing along the tube will be the same , to keep weight down the tubes can be made from plastic tubeing ( unless you plan to weld ). I would love to build one of these things , failing that Id settle to see you build one :-]
I dont know why a gyro would be required , I dont see why control would be any different to a tank or why it would be power ineficient . I do love the machine and a toy ( sorry model ) wouldnt be required to drive on concrete, Appart from the air it will drive anywhere you want . cool Neil R
