I agree 100%. I went down the home-built marker path myself at first. I used a high pressure solenoid valve and a rotating collar around a barrel (http://home.comcast.net/~dwconn404/images/FiringSequence.mpeg). It fired reasonably well and would even reload occasionally :). In the end, I discovered cheap electronic markers and they worked much, much, better. You can get factory rebuilt electronic markers for about $50. I very much doubt you'll be able to build anything as good for any less. My advice is: Find some odd jobs, save some money, buy a marker. - Doug -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of neroc Sent: Monday, July 05, 2010 5:39 PM To: R/C Tank Combat Subject: [TANKS] Re: suggestions for protoype disign Im puzzled by this diagram , what are the two little blue lines in the first drawing and where does it go in the second.and what does the vertical red line represent ? If im right it is to catch the air to oppose the spring and close the paintball feed but if that is the case how does air get past to accelerate the paintball ? this diagram still requires a quick release air valve and whatever the requirements are to operate it. I did make a one shot paintball gun a few years ago that worked off a 12v compresser . it was very easy to build and worked great . but only one shot at a time , I lost intrest in trying to make it any better because a reasonable marker can be bought for very little money (if you live in a country that legaly sells them), so what is the point in trying to build one that is likely to break down, I dont wish to sound negitive but home made paintball guns will not be as reliable as factory built tried and tested markers. None the less , best of luck with your attempt .
