Hi (Mr) Weston

I wanted to talk about the paintball pistol. I have a .40 calibre
Splat-O-Matic in T055 (see http://www.rctankcombat.com/tanks/T055/index.cgi)
and while it is reasonably reliable it has one major flaw- it is very
difficult to see the paintballs in flight. This means that it's very
difficult to hit anything at anything other than very short range, as
you fire a shot and if you miss you can't tell how to correct it.

Other than that the system works well. The 12oz cylinders need
changing fairly often but that is not a problem, and because the balls
are so small the hopper is very small as well. The Splat-O-Matic is
even side-feed which means that the marker fits in easily on its side.

There are .43 calibre pistols and even standard .63 calibre ones
(though they would use a lot of gas I'd think for the sparklets
cylinders). I would try and test your marker to see if you can see the
balls in flight because it's very frustrating otherwise.

One final comment- when buying sparklets cylinders make sure you get
the 12oz ones- if sparklets suppliers talk about "standard" ones they
mean 8 oz ones.

Other than that, nice choice of tank- I didn't realise they made one
with that much armour.

Phil "bought the wrong cylinders" Palmer.
