i followed up on the person who was going to get into doing metal castings  
the other week and he sent me pictures of the master for the Tiger link and 
it  looks superb. due to the pictures large file size, i'm going to crop 
them down  tonight (and may have to do so with the pictures he just sent me 
and have to  download still).
 
I inquired as tot he size of the connecting pin for the Tiger liks and he  
tells me it'll take a 4mm pin and could make the pins longer so nylocknuts 
can  be used. in my reply email i inquired if the pins could be shorter and  
maybe tap the ends of the links and use a short bolt and lock washer.
 
he also said he is a master model maker and engineer by trade (i'm liking  
him all ready...)
 
he has almost finished the drive sprocket for the tiger finished (he'll  
send pictures when he gets them done)
 
i inquired as to a price for the links and he's still waiting for mold  
material and then weigh out a link for a final price
