Yes, tracked vehicles require 2 motors with chain (recomend stronger than bike chain, like #25 or #35). A place called Bearing Belt and Chain is where I found a lot od my stuff there and frandchises can be found all over the country. If you can't find one local, you may need to just order online. If you have questions on how others built thier tanks, many can be answered just by looking up the Tanks at http://www.rctankcombat.com/tanks/ . Most all have pictures and explainations of thier builds. If by snub nose allen bolts on the gearing you mean set screws on spockets, then yes. I myself secure my sprockets to the axles with set screws. Others may go to the extreame of welding in place, but becareful of anything that permenant as maintenance my become more difficult.
