I once thought about building an M24 , I didnt because I didnt like
the shape of the turret ,and for a small tank it wasnt really all that
small :-

Length 5.5 m ( 18 ft)
Width 2.95 m (9.67 ft)
Height 2.5 m ( 8.1 ft)
Armour 9 mm (0.35 in) to 25 mm ( 0.98 in)
Armament 1 x 75mm gun

 @ 1/6th

Length .916 m (3 ft)
Width .495 m (19.5 ")
Height .416 m (16.4 ")

As a 1/6th M24 is 3 ft long there is no benefit I could see to
building it as a "small" tank .if i was to build a 3ft long tank it
could be anything, this was why I chose the Locust , the Locust is 2ft
2inchs long .it can be picked up under one arm , very light, if you
intend to use kiddie Car motors my advice will be to keep it
lightweight.

The original speed controller you asked about in the Locust was bought
from technobots ,it was a 2X10 sabertooth the smaller brother of the
sabertooth 2X25 .Phil P later fitted a 2x25 sabbertooth .To my
knowledge every asset in the UK uses the Sabertooth and everyone has
had considerable problems with them . I do feel they are NOT up to the
job and alternative esc`s are being sought after .

Suspension is a major asset to the running of a tank but can give the
builder considerable headache in construction , totally up to you.
Elevate in a tank is a must , without an elevating gun you will spend
most of a battle missing targets, hitting the ground and the sky.

I look froward to your build
