The Navarone Gun and T001 both use high-torgue, low-RPM geared motors
for elevate. The heavy duty shafts, collars, arms and linkages provide
excellent protection against self-inflicted and battlefield inflicted
damage. For example, our own version of your 5-year old monster, T005,
once ran straight into the Navarone Gun barrel at full speed. The force
was strong enough that the NG's carbon fiber barrel put a hole in T005's
turret. Nothing on the NG was damaged and the elevate/rotate position
of the gun was unaffected by the impact.

I am now contemplating using a large servo for this function.
Have any others had success this way, if so what servo was used, and
