I've been testing my tank and the turning performance is poor. The tanks has EV Warrior motors with two stages of gears, friction drive wheels, and TTS tracks with molded treads. A pretty standard design that seems to work for other folks' tanks. It weighs around 90 lbs, currently with no turret and one 15 lb battery (12 V, 21 AH). The battery lasts about 25 minutes in the tests. It turns well on flat surfaces, but the problem is in grass. The poor turning ability occurs in moving turns, forget about turning in place.
Any suggestions as to what is wrong, or how best to diagnose the problem? Am I drawing amps too fast from the battery, by having too small a battery? -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
