Well whatever it is that disagree with sabertooths, it is also present on my golf trolly motors.
I have been in touch with Action Electronics in Nottingham and they have suggested we try their P94 speed controller. It can only handle 20a continuously but since my motors draw less than 15 that shouldn't be a problem.
