If I assume 24 charge cycles /year (1 warship or tank battle per month
averaging 2 days each) and I get 1000 charge cycles in my SLA per Mikes
estimate below, my SLAs will last about 42 years.    I don't think that I'll
last 42 years, so my SLAs are good for life.

Not to mention the four cells together only weigh 3 lbs.

Cost wise, the Sealed Lead Acid(SLAs, aka AGMs) batteries are the cheapest per
amp hour.   LiFEPO4 (or LiFE for short) cells are a most expensive and light
weight per amp hour.

IMO, LiFE cells are the way to go if a person can afford the initial cost.
They have a life cycle of 2000 to 5000 charge/discharge cycles which is about 2
- 4 times greater than an SLA.  So in the end, the costs even out due to having
to replace the SLAs more often than LiFEs in the long run, plus a person would
gain all the benifits LiFE cells offer such as flat voltage discharge
curves and lighter weight per amp hour.

I made the switch to LiFE in all of my combat ships last year.  It just
follows that the tank currently under construction will have LiFE cells.  :)
