A tank depend on so much more than his numbers and stats do actually succeed on 
the battlefield.
The Germans used the Panzer 1 in Poland, and the Panzer 2 in France, and even 
if those was not
really suited to fight tank battles, their use "en Masse" surprised all 
ennemies wich make them
scared and move back.
 
The Sherman, like those small Panzers, did exactly the same thing but at the 
end of the war.  They
arrived "en Masse" againts superior ennemy Panzer, but won just because there 
was more of them
than that "superior" Panzer had ammunition...or Fuel for that matter.
 
How curious it is to think, the "en Masse" strategy wich maked the German win 
at the beginning of
the war, was doing the same thing but for the Sherman at the end of the war.
