I was looking at a 3D printer for small details, like machine guns and such. THink there'd be much interest in that? i wouldn't bother. there has been a lot of talk from time to time about people looking to get one for themselves to try to print out parts for themselves or others. I myself am going to have one of my newest masters grown where the printer has a resolution of .0006 as that's about as fine as i can find at the moment . i think the last masters I had grown where with a printed with a resolution of .005 (i think) and they turned out fairly well, but still required some minimal filling and sanding, so i can only hope with the higher resolution i won't need to do much of anything other than coat it with a primer to seal it. the printers that can be bough by some of us aren't all that great. the parts might look good at a distance, but when you look close up........ here is one master looking at some of the edges, you can see it looks a bit rough, but a closer picture shows: just how rough it is. even though the price of the printer might be within reach of one's pocket, the end product is not something you'd wish to offer someone to pay for. the good machines are $$$$$$ Chris -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
