Go over to sixtharmygroup.com or thepanzertrap.com and have a look at tim bowmans work, he prints heaps of parts and the quality is outstanding, not sure what type of printer he is using (I would assume a very good one) With that said I would never use a printed part on a tank, not directly anyway. They need to be used as intended. Design the part in cad, print it to check for fit/finish then use the printed part to tool moulds for casting high strength/volume production parts. If you are skilled enough and don't want to buy a printer, just make the prototype parts the old fashioned way!
Me, I would buy well made wheels and tracks. Building them is tedious enough to make me want to throw money at them. Though, if these are going to be machined, the price will be very high. I think if someone cracks the price restriction on tracks they'll have a winning product. Affordable reliable tracks are currently not available.
