It has been looked at before. The issue is selective targeting. That system is based on motion sensing. Not only will it shoot at enemy tanks, it will shoot at any tank that moves including friendlies.
Then there is the safety aspect of it also. Most people walk and stay close to their tank while it is moving or sitting still. The system would see the person moving and shoot at them. Painful indeed.
