Glad to see that Mike and Steve are getting ready. Thank you for the kind words Dave. You feeling okay? LOL. So, as promised it's time to check out your paint supply. Nothing else is more crucial, other than a functional rotate, elevate and CO2. With the proper paint, you'll rule the field. Without the proper paint, you'll rue the field. What pray tell you ask, "Mr. Abomination, how do I know my paint is proper?" My friends it's all in the upbringing. If your supply of paint attends the proper finishing school, no worries.
The simplest method to see how well your paint might fare is to see how they roll through your marker tube. Fairly nice fit, and don't get stuck. GOOD SIGN. If some resemble eggs, not a GOOD SIGN. Next, crack open a round a place a gauge on the shell to check thickness. Some of the newer paint is designed for the new mag fed markers and have thicker shells to handle the spring loaders. Of course these will not prove to be bothersome for us, except that they might tend to ricochet off slanted surfaces rather than break. These rounds do however lend themselves to making dum-dum rounds. Since that is not prohibited, yet, this is what you do. Take the finest, sharpest x-acto blade and place a very light "x" on a non-seamed area. Makes certain that on impact ,no matter the surface, the round will explode. Out of a 2,000 round box, let's say 80% are suitable for use. Making your special rounds will take 1 evening. Safety tip: Wear double latex gloves over a good garden glove and hold off the carb loading until the job is finished. But, Mr Abominination, what do we do with the other 20%? Excellent question grasshopper. There is always,I repeat, always, a combatant that did not bring enough paint, or, forgot theirs. If they happen to be on the Opfor such much the better. "Here you go______, I have some paint you can use." They get the some of the 20%. Don't give all to them, they might end up on your team in the next scenario. Save enough to spread the wealth over the event . Gotta seek an edge if you can. Now, relax, have a beverage. MMMMMM, Mike's pic looks mighty inviting Oberst Johann , -- -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
