Tyng Labs improvements continue. With a little elbow grease, my new 1954 Craftsman band saw is ready for work! A little gotcha on this project was the original motor. After replacing the bearings and a ten minute test run, it started smoking then blew a 20 amp breaker. The old motor goes on the shelf (for possible rebuild) and a new Harbor Freight motor goes on the saw. Not as pretty as the Craftsman motor but spins the saw just fine.

The old v-belt was chucked and an anti-vibration link belt was installed. This saw runs very smooth! <https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-SLrJS5Uk55A/Uo2Fy_wsZSI/AAAAAAAAAVw/JuiESdnZm6U/s1600/2013-11-20+22.31.41-B.jpg> And finally, Tyng Labs has a metal lathe! <https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-X7vF0GJE3aA/Uo2G94dRAwI/AAAAAAAAAV8/pFssbAL9ZnQ/s1600/2013-11-20+22.35.54-B.jpg> -- -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
