"Wolf Wolf".... Cool name.

I haven't produced enough to be an authority on anything, but I know what
you
mean. I am trying to design a "$200(USD) Tank" to get my kids into the RC
tank hobby. I've been working on them for about two years (the tanks, not
the
kids), and recently my Government contract ended. Of course, my
non-functioning
prototypes have already exceeded multiples of $200, but I am documenting
and
changing things as I go. I think second-hand components and a small/light
tank
design are the ways to keep your builds cheap.

I won't bother posting the M5A1 templates until I get one running, and the
R&D
effort for a novice is much harder when I am feeling asocial. Things get
much
easier every time I step out of my comfort zone and ask these guys for help!

This is my current Materials List for an M5A1 Stuart or M8A1 HMC:
(a 1:6 plastic M5A1 to copy)
4'x4' sheet of 1/4" plywood
2'x4' sheet of 3/4" plywood
epoxy (maybe even wood glue?)
2 cordless drills
bargain 5 Chan radio
four microswitches
3 cheap servos,
1 heavy-duty servo
one re-purposed electric car motor
3x 6volt batteries
a second-hand marker

The M4A1 Sherman will be more expensive, but is also designed for quick
reproduction, with either tank finished and running within a
week(?), but the
Sherman is designed around simultaneously casting multiple reinforced
fiberglass sub-components in large, heavy molds.

As I said... "my products are my credentials", and I have neither.
Building
things inexpensive and quickly will probably hinder their reliability.
Then
my only saving graces will be quick field repairs or making them disposable.

Good Luck with K-9. If you find a functional Tardis on the cheap, I could
could get rid of a 15-year-old Whovian. My daughter is constantly
prattling
on about David Tennant.
