As a paintballer I almost never use co2 anymore co2 freezes up and can break paint and accuracy problems of all sorts. With hpa everything just is simpler. As for being hard to refill them use a scuba than and get a fill adapter a 250 ish set up and then can get the scuba filled for 20 ish dollars over a time it is much cheaper than co2. The 3 tanks me and my friends are building are all going to be run on hpa and not co2
